First as a camper in 2002, then as a JC (2006-2007), and most recently as a senior staff member, Clarion has been a stalwart presence on the Brown Ledge archery range since the age of 12. As for nearly all who attend, for Clarion too, Brown Ledge was an indescribably formative experience. Camp offered her invaluable leadership experience, and instilled in her a love of teaching that eventually guided her career path. It gifted her with opportunities for self-discovery and with unconditional “bunkie” love. But perhaps most importantly, it taught her to embrace Samuel Beckett’s mantra: “Ever tried, ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.” Now, as a math-teacher-turned-software-engineer, Clarion is thrilled to serve on the Board of Directors, and to work to ensure that Brown Ledge continues to provide home and haven to so many campers.
