For 93 years, BLC has been a summer home to thousands of girls and young women. This continues to be possible today thanks to the continued connection and support of our alumnae, staff members, parents, grandparents and friends.

Marjorie P. Brown Scholarship Fund

Gifts to the MPB Scholarship Fund support tuition assistance to make attending Brown Ledge Camp affordable for more families.

This fund was established to honor BLC’s first co-director, Marjorie Brown, who was involved in directing camp each summer from its first in 1927 until the early ‘60s. Twylla Fishel, beloved counselor and scholarship champion for many years, was quoted in the 1994 Alumnae Ledger, “Mrs. Brown believed that campers who gave of themselves and participated fully in camp life would receive far more in return and a lifelong memory.”

Mr. Mac Annual Operations Fund

Gifts directed to the Mr. Mac Annual Operations Fund support general operations and help assure the quality and future of Brown Ledge Camp’s operation and programs.

William McAllister, known as Mr. Mac, was head of riding and riflery counselor in the late ’20s and early ’30s while he was a student at Norwich University. He then returned to BLC each summer after retiring in the early ’70s, and was the Town Shopper and ‘President of the First National Bank of Skunk Junction.’ Mr. Mac died August, 1992.

Facilities Improvement Fund

With more than 70 buildings throughout camp grounds, plus the equipment needed to offer the great range of activities that are available at BLC, there are always improvements, repairs, and renovations needed.

Your gift to this fund will help keep the structures where campers sleep, eat, and play safe, and the equipment they learn on ready for another season.

You can volunteer your time and energy for Brown Ledge in a variety of ways. Our annual Work Weekend, the weekend after Memorial Day, is a chance to be at camp and help us get everything ready to welcome campers. There are projects for all ages and abilities.
