Jessie Hamilton is back for their 9th summer at BLC, after a 5-year gap following their JC years. They grew up in New York City and graduated from Skidmore College in 2020 with a BS in Gender Studies and Theater (concentrating in stage management and lighting design). Since their graduation in the time of Covid-19, they’ve been working full-time as an EMT and Ski Patroller. Before the pandemic they spent their summers working, first with the Saratoga Shakespeare Company as assistant technical director in 2017 and assistant scenic designer in 2018, and then as an electrics intern with the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center in 2019. Their first foray into technical theater happened at 10 years old, when they signed up to be a color wheel operator for Mamma Mia during their first summer at Brown Ledge. Since then, although their skillset has expanded to include scenic design, sound design, carpentry, and scenic painting, their passion for theatrical lighting remained. They are absolutely thrilled to be coming back to Brown Ledge and to be returning to the theater once more!
